The Chameleon Choir is well known for its colourfull and joyfull concerts. Body percussions, movement and expressions come through in choir's programme that varies from pygmi jodel to pop, Finnish folk music to musicals.The choir has performed in various occasions from the huge TV concert of Espoo City Independence Fest to more intimate gigs in elderly homes. Latest big production was Georg Malmstén's Aapinen year 2008 together with Tapiola Sinfoniettan and Finnish National opera. There was also a CD released of the Aapinen.
The Chameleon choir has done some trips abroad: This spring Uni traveled to Vox Pueri Festival in Portugal and Sekamelska to Käsmu choir festival in Estonia.
The choir was originally founded by Sanna Valvanne in 2004. She has been quite busy teaching her vocal expression technique "Making Music with Body and Soul" in many choir festivals. Veera Voima took over year 2007 and bgought along her special genre, ethnic and folk singing.
The Chameleon choir consists of four groups. The smallest ones (age 6-8) sing in Hepuli, Vilske is for 8-10 year olds. Sekamelska singers are 10-12 years old and in Unissa 11-15. The groups performe also separately, but together they are about 100 singers.
